For anyone that cares, I went to a gym for a free lesson from a guy taught by Royler and a guy taught by Rickson. I also met former UFC champ Andrei Arlovski. The lesson was awesome and I've already forgotten 90% of it, but it was great to work with talented BJJ players and see them rolling up close. Dino Costeas (Rickson student/Arlovski coach) is the most intimidating person I've ever seen when hes curled up into his little x-guard position. How can someone scoot around on their butt and still be scary?

It was 130 a month for unlimited BJJ (and boxing too, I think), or 110 a month for two classes a week.

Jesus! I wonder if that has something to do with it being in chicago though. Id imagine martial arts instruction to be higher on average there. The average "school" around here is 75$ for two classes a week and 100$ a month for unlimited. Which was close to valpo last time I checked. The university clubs is much much cheaper judo is 45$ a semester which is like 3-4 months so thats a little more than 10$ a month! Judo is also the most expensive martial arts club to my knowledge. The YMCA in valpo is also the cheapest in the area to my knowledge and pats is pretty cheap to. I probably should have raised the price but even if I did I wouldnt have made egnough to live off of so I might as well just do it for fun, and it beats paying to teach which I did before that
