Okay Carl any info on a good type of diet for ma training?
What's worked pretty well for me in the past, and I've read it several places, is for strength training to take 1 gram of protein per pound of body weight you have per day, spread out in as much as 40g incremants with at least 2 hrs between protein intakes.
Also, 3-5 servings EACH of fruits and veggies a day helps tremendously. It's said that after a workout you should immediately take a protein supplement and have a serving of fruit to replace the glucose lost in the workout. When I've done that I feel super replenished and like a million bucks.
This is all my stuff, keep in mind most of my weight training was to gain muscle mass. So should the diet be changed at all for explosive-type training you think? I would think not, but I was just recalling how little Bruce Lee was despite how frikkin' powerful he was.

I dont know all that much about diet. But for any weight training program you need to be getting a lot of protien. If your going to use a supplement its best to use it before and after a workout, you should also be eating about 5 times a day it doesnt have to be a lot of food but eating that much keeps your metabolism high and helps rebuild muscle. You should also take a multi-vitamine when on a weight training program, there good to take anyways though I just recently started using protien shakes but I used to make tuna fish sandwhiches after a workout, its a good soource of protien. Getting protien is very important in building muscle it not nescicarrily going to make you big either. Gaining size is determined by how you work out, working towards hypertrophy, not so much what you eat. I plan on taking a nutritions class sometime in the future, actually im planning on minoring in nutrition, so ill update this then
