The current location of the main Toeido class taught by Housler Sensei is at the Chesterton YMCA. Starting on Febuary 20th 2006. Cost I belive is 50$ for non Y memebers, and 20 for Y members. That cost is for a session which runs 5 weeks in the summer and 7 weeks in the winter. It meets on Mondays and Wednesdays at 7:30 - 8:30.
Toeido is also now offered at the Valparaiso YMCA on Thursdays at 7:10 - 8:30p.m. This class is mixed with the throws of Jujutsu.

I was reading on a previous thread recently, that Mr. Houseler is teaching Toeido at the Y. Is this at the Valpo Y? If so, when are the classes? Also, what are the Jujitsu arrangements at the Valpo Y now? Barb

Alright from what I understand this is how its going to work at the Valpo YMCA. There is going to be a toeido/ jujutsu class on thrusday. Whichs is basically going to be toedio with jujutsu throws mixed in. The throws are not going to be required for rank in toeido, but they wuill be taught as an extra and for those who want to continue up the jujutsu ranks. Pure jujutsu will still be taught on tuesdays.
Also there will be an open mat on saturdays, which will be like an open forum for martial arts. Basically there will be an instructor there either Shawn Housler, Tony Sandillia, Mike Owens, or Joe Dejesus. They will teach whatever they want, but I think they will also be allowing more advanced ranks to work on what they want, either jujutsu or toeido or a mix. They might also be willing to help others towards their goal either in jujutso or toeido.
Its fairly confusing but the basic idea is they will try to get you where you want to go in either toeido, jujutsu or both. There is also still Toedio at the Chesterton YMCA on the times listed above

Toeido is now on Tuesday nights, and Saturday at 11:30am
We start warming up at 7 on Tuesday. We bow in at 7:30. We go until 8:30/8:45.
Saturday is an informal, open floor session. Class is not organized, and I am there mostly to answer questions. It's a Bring-Your-Own-Workout day.
